My favorite things for events

These are some of the things I swear by for events. There is some crossover with my favorite things for travel.

My favorite insoles - I’m on my feet a lot, so these are a must-have.

Electrolytes - working outdoor events in the summer requires extra hydration. Drip Drops are my fave.

Alani energy drinks - If I don't want hot caffeine, or I need the convenience of just using a bottled water.

Charging cables - only one cube needed to plug into the wall, and I can charge ALL my devices. Phone, apple watch, Kindle, and my BT sleep mask. I actually have two - I can leave one at the hotel, and have the other onsite with me.

Black pants - you need show blacks, but you need pants WITH POCKETS that are not hot and stuffy. These are those pants.

Black socks - basic cotton ankle socks (I don't care if the kids say ankle socks are no longer in style).

Basic event clipboard - holds papers and pens (and wristbands, and a Tile). Have also discreetly stuffed snacks into it, to take back to the production office to eat.

Extensive event clipboard - I use this one if I need to have a lot of printed docs on hand.

Power bank - I like the slimness of this one, and it's magnetic. I keep two of these on me when traveling.

Emergen-C packets - no water needed! Pour the packet into your mouth like a pixie stick. Also has pop rocks, so it's fun! Essential for multi-day events, and the days leading up to them.

Sweat / cooling towels - perfect size to tie it to my fanny pack.

Baggu fanny pack - when I need a large fanny pack, this is my go-to. Great quality, and I can fit EVERYTHING in it.

Nalgene water bottle - the 16oz bottle fits inside my Baggu fanny pack! But I can also clip it to any other bag. Also, it’s not my daily water bottle, so if I lose it an an event, no biggie.

Rechargeable hand warmers - I hate cold weather events, but when I have to do them, I bring these.

Portable power - outdoor event with no access to power? This guy.

Water key - very niche usage. I only ever used it on tour with a drum corps, when you need hose water from whatever source you can find.

Décor to display event badges - a fun way to display all the badges I've acquired working events
